The Best Cocktails I Had at Cocktail Week

Hello Dolls!

Well it is my new favorite season and no I don’t mean summer. It is 805 Livings first Cocktail week!!! For those of you who don’t know 805 Living is doing their first hopefully annual cocktail week which means discounted cocktails at amazing restaurants in the 805 area code for an entire week that you wont want to miss.

We are enjoying drink specials, limited editions cocktails with incredible food pairings, mixology classes and more at locations listed here!

I believe that everyone (over the age of 21) deserves a cocktail every now and again so come celebrate life with me and lets look at some of the amazing cocktails and recipes that I got to try.

Lets start with our first stop at Oak & Iron

Solstice Negroni

Solstice Negroni

Oak and Iron is taking cocktails to the next level. No, really. The first words on their website is elevated cocktails. This bar is raising the bar with a culinary experience you do not want to miss out on., creating some of the most beautiful cocktails you have ever seen using only the freshest, local and fine quality ingredients. They are open 5 nights a week for a relaxed comfortable vibe that will take you away from the TV and into reality. (seriously there are no TVs in this bar).

I had the privilege to try the Solstice Negroni

Solstice Negroni - The flavors of Mexico meet classic Italy in our take on a Negroni you and drink all summer long. The Solstice Negroni with Limited Edition Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice, Del Professore, and Licor Pajaorte has notes of floral, citrus, grapefruit, and rosemary.

You can get this lovely, refreshing drink for only $9.00 through the 30th.

Next we head to The Gallery Westlake

Mexican Flowering Squad

Mexican Flowering Squad

The Gallery is a casual yet sophisticated restaurant serving a seasonal, modern American menu that is refined yet approachable and highlights multi-cultural influences and flavors such as Indian, Asian, Thai and more. They are offering some of the freshest most local seafood through their raw bar around. They offer many seasonal dishes and cocktails that are as delicious as they are beautiful. There is little that compare to this fresh and delicious joint.

So lets talk about the cocktail that I got to enjoy pair with some Ahi tartare

The Mexican Flowering Squad contains Milagro Silver Tequila, raspberries, jalapeño, fresh lime, jalapeño simple syrups, and a splash of ginger beer. It is extremely refreshing with a little kick and is definitely a go to summer beverage.

It is only $10 this week or $18 when paired with ahi tartare tacos.

Last but certainly not least we have Nonna

Nonna’s takes you right back to your grandmas house every single time you go there. With home style cooking he nostalgia runs high and you will be having countless deja vu moments of your childhood. The atmosphere is rustic yet cozy that will make you truly feel apart of the family and make you feel at home. Each recipe has history and a story and this restaurant is full of both.

The drink I got to enjoy made by the one and only Lerone (pictured left) was a Sugar Magnolia. Made with Cazadores Blanco, ginger hibiscus tea, Lo-Fi Amaro, fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, egg white, prosecco, and Angostura bitters, this full bodied effervescent libation will be so gorgeous you don’t want to drink it but you have to because it is like nothing you will ever taste.

Also cheers to Lerone who was fabulous, and lovely.

There are so many fabulous restaurants that are participation in Cocktail week. There is still a few days left to go out and try the many different cocktails and food pairings this week have to offer. Check out the local digs here

Until next time!

Cheers Dolls!!
